A full Off-Grid Fitout for a Ford Transit — designed around practical family travel with a generous kitchen, water system, organised storage, and a flexible sleeping arrangement.
The Brief
A comfortable layout for family travel with storage, water, cooking space, and room for everyday gear.
The Challenge
Family travel introduces a different set of requirements — more gear, more storage organisation, easier access to cooking and water, and a layout that works for adults and children. The Transit provided good width but required careful layout planning to balance sleeping, kitchen, and gear storage without compromising the usable floor space.
The Solution
We used the full width of the Transit for a rear sleeping layout with a generous fixed-height platform, with storage drawers and lift-top compartments underneath. The kitchen runs along the driver's side with a full sink, water system, cooktop space, and substantial overhead cabinetry. The off-grid electrical system includes solar charging and a 12V/240V setup for devices and lighting. A dedicated section of cabinetry provides organised storage for everyday family gear.
